HYDAC Diesel Fuel Filters

Diesel fuel filters

Emissions directives are raising the standards for diesel fuels. As a consequence, suppliers must guarantee that there is less contamination and lower
water content in their fuels. The increasing percentage of biodiesel has the additional effect that existing systems must be retrofitted with diesel conditioning systems.

In order to meet the requirements, it is not sufficient to condition the diesel just prior to usage in the machine. The fuel must be filtered and dewatered at every stage of the transport chain – from production in the refinery to the end user.
To comply with the  high quality requirements it is essential to monitor particle contamination and water content.

Innovative solution in solid design.

Your first choice for mobile working machines and utility vehicles which are operated in the harshest of conditions: HYDAC Diesel PreCare and HYDAC Diesel MainCare.
In order to secure disruption-free operation of vehicles and to protect all of the components of the motor against damage, optimum preparation of the diesel fuel is of particular importance. With its new filter concepts Diesel PreCare and Diesel MainCare, HYDAC offers trend-setting systems for diesel filtration protecting vehicle manufacturers and operators against operations disruptions, downtimes and premature service calls.

In addition to the on-board products for smaller diesel quantities on machines, equipment is also available for larger flows. This is used during transport between different storage depots, on fuel stations and when transferring to the engine.

Filter housings (on board)

Our "HYDAC Diesel PreCare" solution for efficient diesel filtration is available as a cup filter in two versions:

  • Diesel Pre-Filter in BestCost Design with manual water drainage as user-dependent solution.
  • Diesel Pre-Filter in HighTech Design with fully automatic drainage Plug&Play as innovative solution for user-independent, fully-automatic dewatering, even during suction operation.

Outstanding performance data achieved by 2-stage water removal and superb filtration characteristics through the use of synthetic media - these are the special features of these filters. Both systems are pre-filters on suction side and protect all components of the fuel system against water and particulate contamination.

Our solution for efficient diesel main filtration HYDAC Diesel MainCare (HDM) offers highest dirt retention capacities and matches in terms of micron rating the requirements of modern injection systems. Most simple assembly and service, as well as the excellent filtration performance on the engine make this filter line to amitious users' first choice. The fully combustible filter element as well

Filter Housings (stationary)

The stationary LowViscosity Housings LVH are available for larger flows. This is used during transport between different storage depots, on fuel stations
and when transferring to the engine.

LVH-F

The function of the LowViscosity Housing Filter LVH-F is to eliminate particle contamination from the diesel. Its design makes it ideally suited to removing large quantities of contamination reliably in a single-pass, thereby guaranteeing the required cleanliness.

  • Vertical and horizontal housings available
  • For volumes of up to several thousand liters per minute
  • Diesel filtration from the refinery to the tank system

LVH-CD

The LowViscosity Housing Coalescer LVH-CD is used to separate water from diesel.

  • Coalescing elements are not subject to wastage
  • Droplets of water sediment at the outside of the coalescing element
  • Further water separation at the separating element

BestCost-Elements

New element technology: Dieselmicron® filter element with 2-Stage system with function-integrated, unique end cap

A new type of filter element in two-stage design which combines outstanding dewatering irrespective of the contamination level with excellent particle filtration at the same time.

FEATURES:

  • Particle removal and droplet coalescence (Stage 1)
By using purely synthetic filter media a high contamination retention capacity and steady coalescence is guaranteed.

HighTech Elemente

New element technology: Dieselmicron® filter element with 2-stage system

A new type of filter element in two-stage design which combines outstanding dewatering irrespective of the contamination level with excellent particle filtration at the same time.

A hydrophobic barrier on the strainer tube guarantees reliable separation of the water droplets which coalesced during stage 1.

Optimicron Diesel

The Optimicron Diesel filter elements specially developed for the filtration of diesel are characterised by very high contamination retention capacity coupled with low pressure drop. This results in a long service life for the elements.
The use of the most up-to-date materials guarantees excellent separation rates even in a single pass and this continues over the whole life of the
filter element.

The Optimicron Diesel elements for two stage dewatering use materials specifically designed for coalescing and for separating water from diesel. They enable secure and efficient dewatering even when the water content of the diesel is low.

Units

Consumers with large tanks which are only seldom used and in which the diesel is “stored” for a long time (e.g. emergency power packs) are particularly prone to heavy deposits of contamination in the form of particle contamination on the tank floor as well as to raised water content in the tank (e.g. due to condensation).
If the system is switched on, the pump typically draws off the surrounding particles of contamination and the filter or system components quickly become clogged. As a rule this leads to a system stoppage. The unit is therefore not fit for purpose and at the same time high costs of maintenance and repair mount up.
Furthermore, free water remaining in the tank over a long period gives rise to diesel bug (formation of micro-organisms such as types of bacteria, algae, fungi etc.) which can also clog the filter and components. With its water elimination function, the LowViscosity Unit LVU-CD can prevent premature and expensive disposal of the diesel (when it becomes unusable due to diesel bug).

LVU

The LowViscosity Unit LVU-CD-10 from HYDAC is intended for offline filtration. It removes solid particle contamination and free water from diesel fuel. The use of a LowViscosity Unit LVU-CD-10 minimizes contamination to a system and prevents expensive system down time. It also helps to avoid the necessity of early and expensive disposal of diesel fuel.

The LowViscosity Unit LVU-CD-40 is a dewatering unit for diesel fuels with densities of less than 950 kg/m3.
The dewatering process works according to the coalescence principle which means that tiny water droplets are combined into larger drops in the coalescing unit and  separated from the diesel by force of gravity. The LowViscosity Unit LVU-CD-40 is installed offline, but can also be used as a transfer unit for diesel fuel, with an optional pre-filter.

  • Greater system availability
  • Cost-effective dewatering
